Jessica Woodroffe (she/her/hers) is Director of the Gender and Development Network (GADN), a UK based coalition of over 100 NGOs and experts. The network works in partnership with women’s rights organisations internationally to advocate for gender equality and women’s rights. She also co-chairs the G7 Global Task Force’s gender working group, was Co-Chair of the 2021 W7, and was a member of the UK’s G7 Presidency Gender Equality Advisory Council.
Her nearly thirty years’ experience of research and advocacy covers issues such as gender equality, the international financial institutions, and economic justice in roles such as Director of Policy and Campaigns at ActionAid UK, Head of Policy and Campaigns at the World Development Movement and Head of Campaigns at Christian Aid. She was a member of the High Level Panel on Women’s Economic Empowerment’s working group on macroeconomics, and a founder member of both the Jubilee Debt Campaign and the European Network on Debt and Development. Jessica’s interest in macroeconomics and gender started as a Master’s Student under the supervision of Professor Diane Elson. As Head of Campaigns at the Fawcett Society she also led advocacy work on UK issues such as the gender pay gap.
