Marion Sharples (she/her/hers) is the Head of International Partnerships and Training at the UK Women’s Budget Group (WBG). She leads WBG’s work internationally, supporting civil society organisations around the world to apply feminist economic analysis and implement gender-responsive budgeting. Previously, she ran the WBG Commission on a Gender-Equal Economy. Before joining WBG, Marion worked in policy and advocacy at the Gender & Development Network and the European Women’s Lobby. She is also a trained cycling instructor and teaches refugee and asylum-seeking women to cycle. Marion holds an MSc in Gender, Development and Globalisation from the London School of Economics. She is a Clore Fellow (2020 cohort, Emerging Leaders) and is trained in the Art of Participatory Leadership (2021). Marion speaks Spanish, German and French as well as her native English.
