Atsuko Miwa (she/her/hers) is the Director of the Asia-Pacific Human Rights Information Centre in Osaka, Japan, and Co-Chair of Japan Civil Society Network on SDGs. She was formerly Programme Officer at the Bangkok Office of the United Nations Development Fund for Women (UN Women currently) and has been researching and writing in the field of gender, development, and human rights for years. She teaches at Kwansei Gakuin University as a visiting professor and her recent research interests include women’s empowerment through rights-based approaches, especially in the context of sexual and reproductive health and rights, and leadership development of Japanese women and girls. She is also Vice President of the Japan National Committee for UN Women. She participated in W7 in 2018, 2019, and 2021.
