Chiya has 10 years of field experience in managing NGOs’ development and humanitarian projects in Cambodia, Kenya, Indonesia and Laos in the field of gender and girls’ rights, children and youth, education, economic empowerment and livelihoods. She joined Plan International Japan in 2015, and her current position is Advocacy Officer, responsible for advocacy work on gender mainstreaming in ODA and awareness-raising activities on gender issues in Japan. She is also Coordinator for Gender Working Group at a CSO’s networking organization JANIC. She holds an MA in Gender and Development from the Institute for Development Studies (IDS), University of Sussex.
