Foteini Papagioti is a senior global policy advisor with the International Center for Research on Women (ICRW) and is based in New York. She conducts research and analysis, providing evidence-based strategic guidance to governments, international organizations, and ICRW’s policy and advocacy team, with a focus on feminist foreign policy and global gender architecture/institutions. Foteini has an in-depth knowledge of the UN system and familiarity with its processes, and has co-authored the 2022 Feminist U.N. Campaign Report Card on the Secretary-General, has consulted with UN Women on Women, Peace, and Security; feminist foreign policy; military expenditure and gender equality; gender-sensitive financing in peacebuilding; and the implementation of commitments to gender equality in humanitarian response plans. She has also researched gender parity and feminist leadership in the United Nations, evaluating the Secretary- General’s 2017 Gender Parity Strategy, and exploring gender parity and geographic diversity in senior appointments at the UN.
