I am Naoko Kawaguchi,living with an intractable disease (mild bone growth disorder) and a member of DPI Women’s Network. I have work experience as a hospital social worker, supporting clients to discharge from hospital and live in the community. I have experienced Feminist Counselling as well as Peer Counseling. I graduated from MA Disability Studies in Leeds University at 2006, which broadened my perspectives not only disability but also race, gender, religion, and culture. Since 2007, I have been teaching social policy for disabled people. I investigate experiences of disabled women from an intersectional approach.
