Youngsook Cho, former Ambassador for Gender Equality (2020-2021) started the women’s movement as a founding member of the Incheon Women’s Workers’ Association in 1987 and has been active in the Korea Women’s Associations United since 1996. She did activities to promote institutionalization of comprehensive support systems for GBV survivors and to localize global gender equality norms and standards, including CEDAW, BPfA, UNCSR 1325, and SDGs. Currently, she is presenting feminist perspectives at the UNSCR 1325 NAP Joint Committee under the MOGEF, Action with Women and Peace under the MOFA, and KOICA.
